Lindsay Lohan no longer a 'mean girl'?
It is highly unlikely that Lindsay Lohan will reprise her role as Cady Heron in the upcoming Paramount Famous Productions sequel Mean Girls 2, especially since the new script has no character named Cady. But it is likely that the lead role will go to an actress who is not required to wear a Scram anklet.
Actress and Director Melanie Mayron has been brought in to helm the movie. Mayron has directed numerous television shows such as The Naked Brothers Band, 90210, Lipstick Jungle, Greek, Drop Dead Diva, and Army Wives. She won an Emmy Award in 1989 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role of Melissa Steadman in Thirtysomething.
The movie is being penned by veteran writers Cliff Ruby and Elana Lesse, along with long-time production assistant Allison Schroeder. Schroeder wrote an aepisode of the new 90210 series titled "That Which We Destroy", in which she worked with director Melanie Mayron.
Paramount Famous Productions is the made-for-home entertainment division of Paramount Pictures Corporation. The division develops and produces prequels, sequels and remakes based on the libraries of Paramount Pictures, Paramount Vantage, DreamWorks Pictures, MTV Films and Nickelodeon Movies, as well as other renowned properties. Paramount Famous Productions recently has made its first acquisition of Galt Niederhoffer’s Sundance premiere “The Romantics” – an all-star film with Katie Holmes, Josh Duhamel, Anna Paquin, Malin Akerman, Adam Brody, Candice Bergen, and Elijah Wood.

Shooting begins in Atlanta, GA on July 6, 2010 and will run through August 20, 2010.

Which Gossip Girl star was arrested today?
Chace Crawford from "Gossip Girl" was arrested in Plano, Texas for possession of marijuana, cops confirm to TMZ.
We're told Crawford has bonded out of jail.
Crawford was arrested just after midnight this morning for possession of marijuana under 2 ounces. The charge is a misdemeanor.
Crawford was busted in the parking lot of Ringo's Pub.
Sources say Crawford was in a car with a friend when he was busted and cops found one unlit joint.

The 20-year-old actress opened up to the mag about who she’s jamming to right now, having an amazing family and how she dealt with having Twilight explode. Check it:
On growing up: “My family are amazing. I had like, the perfect upbringing. It sucks for people like Lindsay [Lohan], but it’s not her fault that she’s so off the rails.”
On music: “I’m just getting into The Smiths actually. Vicar in a Tutu is my favourite song. I was singing along to it this morning in my room; I’m so emo! I’m listening to Camera Obscura. It’s really ‘chicky music.’ I listen to stuff over and over. My favourite band is Interpol, and I’m listening to Broken Bells a lot, too. They are the new band from the lead singer of The Shins. I’m always going somewhere, so I get the chance to listen to a lot of music.”
On Twilight: “With Twilight, we never thought it was going to be so huge; we never thought we’d do a second, a third. I’m quite nervous about the third one, actually. It’s so such a privilege to be able to play a role for so long. Also, it’s such a product now; it didn’t start out as a product. I read the first book and thought, ‘Wow, this is a pager turner.’ There was something in the script - the energy. It’s raw desire, that’s what that book is. Which is why it’s weird that little kids read it. I’m like, ‘What are you thinking about when you’re reading it?’ I thought that it was going to be a really simple, overly dramatic - which was what was attractive about it - rotten love story. When they cast me it wasn’t like ‘Omigod, I got this huge movie;’ it was like, ‘OK, I got this film.’ You have to rev up to it.”

Ashlee Simpson could've been Elena Gilbert
Believe or not, Ashlee Simpson was this close to playing lead mortal Elena Gilbert on The Vampire Diaries.
The show's co-executive producer Marcos Siege explains, "We all independently looked at a bunch of [audition] DVDs. We couldn't find the girl we wanted. The network wanted us to hire Ashlee Simpson...But Nina sent this DVD back and we all were home looking, searching, and we came in the next day saying, 'We should look at Nina again.'
Casting was so last minute, in fact, that Nina Dobrev only officially landed the gig a week before filming started.
If Ashlee being cast as Elena is hard to imagine, what about Paul Wesley playing dark, edgy Damon instead of wholesome Stefan? That almost happened, too.
"I did audition for Damon," reveals Paul. "I had a couple call backs, but clearly things worked out."
"You're just too sweet," Ian Somerhalder, who plays the edgier Salvatore brother, tells Paul.
